With 20 years of experience marketing consumer products to multicultural audiences, Melissa specializes in launching and repositioning brands to niche populations. She currently acts as a consultant, working with a select group of agencies to help with Hispanic strategy and brand planning for their roster of clients.
Most recently, Melissa was Executive Vice President and head of the New York office for RL Public Relations + Marketing/Sportivo, a leading independent Hispanic communications firm. Melissa was responsible for business development and client management, overseeing campaigns for Ford Motor Company, Domino’s Pizza and Wonderful Pistachios among others. In her ten year tenure at RLPR, Melissa successfully led Hispanic initiatives for Delta Airlines, Heineken USA, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Pantene, L’Oreal Paris and other leading brands.

Prior to joining RLPR, Melissa was a group vice president at GCI Group in the consumer marketing practice of the New York office. In her nearly five years with GCI, she created and spearheaded several successful consumer product launches and repositioning campaigns for leading personal care, food, and retail clients including Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Energizer Holdings brands.
Melissa is a founding board member of the New York chapter of the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), and currently serves on its national board of directors. Born, raised and still residing in Brooklyn with her husband, son and daughter, Melissa received her BA from Washington University.
